Octavo, half black leather and marbled boards with gilt titling to spine. xlviii + 646pp. Illustrated by J A Gilfillan and J Johnstone. Boards are somewhat worn. Inscription to pastedown is dated 1881. Title plate and title page are detached. Page xv has some creasing. A number of items are loosely inserted. These include a pamphlet entitled "An Intercession Paper for Young People" dated 1911; a 4pp pamphlet by rev Walsham entitled "Good Friday"; a pamphlet entitled "The Day of Intercession for Foreign Missions" dated 1911; a short letter concerning two verses for use on a grave and a short list. A limited edition of 1600 copies, of which 1000 were for Nonesuch (and 600 were for Random House in the USA), this copy is numbered 26. On Arches paper. Eight full page illustrations printed from original woodblocks and color stencilled by the Curwen Press, all under the care of Francis Meynell. Fore-edges spotted, endpapers browned, else Vg.
