V + 203pp. Newspaper clipping pasted to endpaper and a small stamped address to pastedown, else bright tight and Vg+ in a dustwrapper that is price-clipped and faded a shade to the spine, else Vg. 101 pictures by the photojournalist Arthur Rothstein with accompanying text by William Saroyan making a lyrical depiction of the American scene.

Brown silk moiré endpapers and ribbon place marker. 230pp. A bright crisp copy in Fine condition. An unopened copy. A limited edition published for members of the First Edition Society and with publication preceding that of the first trade edition. Contains a special message to subscribers, in the form of a conversation between William Saroyan and Aram Garoghlanian, that does not appear in the trade edition.

First edition. Octavo, light gray boards and black spine with gold band around book that has black titling to spine and top board. 270pp. The authors first book. Signed by the author in the month of first publication. Inscription to the endpaper reads - "For Chester W Ellison Many thanks and good wishes from William Saroyan Oct 1934". Boards are just beginning to fade to margins and endpapers are partially and lightly toned. Else a clean and tight copy that is Vg+ in a dustwrapper that is price-clipped, is chipped to the head of the spine (not affecting titling) and is split down most of the fold between spine and lower board (but now protected with mylar cover). Dustwrapper is darkened to spine and top edge.
