Octavo (9in x 5.75in) later full red morocco with five raised bands and gilt titling to spine. Top edge gilt. 387pp. 68 illustrations on 66 engraved plates (2 illustrating two figures). Plates illustrate stage gestures and historical costumes. Signed and inscribed on the title page in 1908 by Stephen Parrish, noted 19th century etcher. Leather moderately worn, lightly soiled. Foxing to some plates, two slightly dampstained. London theater of the end of the seventeenth century.
