Owners label to endpapers. Small booksellers label to lower corner of both pastedowns. Boards are dull but tight. Page 135 of Vol 2 is creased to fore-edge. Occasional pencilled lines throughout for emphasis. Pencilled notes to final blank in Volume 1. This work was translated for publication into English by George Eliot and represents her first published work.
