First edition. Octavo, red cloth spine and gray boards with gilt titling to spine. 299pp. Inscribed and signed to the endpaper by the books editor. Loosely inserted is a typed letter on the publisher's letterhead signed by the books editor. A clean copy that is Vg in a dustwrapper that is somewhat shelfworn. Banned in South Africa before publication, this book is one of the earliest novels to excoriate the apartheid system.
