First edition. Duodecimo, tan cloth with gilt titling to spine and gilt decorative pigeons of various sorts to spine and top board. xiv, 458pp, 32pp publishers ads. Some foxing to the original cloth with a small spot of wrinkling to the cloth of the fore-edge of the top board. Bookplate to the pastedown. This copy is bright and Vg with tight hinges. Binders label to bottom corner of rear pastedown. This is an exceptionally rare volume and is apparently the only copy currently for sale. Charles Darwin refers to this book several times in his "The Variation of Animals and Plants Under Domestication".
