1924 [but 1925 on title label on boards] Originally written in 1609, this was the first publication of a complete copy in the modern era, previous editions lacking a number of pages. Dekker was a playwright and lyrical observer of the social condition. This book was described as "..no prayer book in the language .. which can bear comparison with this for simplicity and beauty". Sm8vo decorated boards. 286pp slightly discoloured to spine and edges, else vg.
